Miley Cyrus is on the March 2020 cover of US Marie Claire looking amazing in a stunning Roberto Cavalli gown. Inside the magazine, the teen actress/singer opens up about the less happy moments in her life and those that caused major controversy, proving once again that no one can reach perfection.
In fact, in the interview for the magazine, Miley says that she never claimed to be perfect and that she really regrets for having disappointed her fans.
“What I never wanted was for my fans to ever feel like I betrayed them … to feel like I said I was something, then turned around and was something that I’m not. But I’ve never, ever claimed to be perfect. I mean, since I’ve started the show, I’ve always said, ‘I’m gonna make mistakes.’ I know this. And I think that that is one of the reasons why people related to me. Why kids related to me.”
There is no doubt that the “bong situation”, when Miley was caught smoking salvia out of a bong, was one moment that made Miley have that feeling of betrayal. However, the teen queen says she regrets the incident, explaining that she made a mistake “I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans…”
She also believes that there are other people of her age doing the same thing, yet since they are not role models, things are different. “But they’re not Miley Cyrus. They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”
Last year, Miley’s parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, decided to divorce after 17 years of marriage and five kids. Miley admits it wasn’t easy to pass through this tough experience, yet she wants her family to be happy. “Of course, anyone is going to be upset when there are troubles in their family, but I have a lot of hope in our family, and no matter what happens, we’re gonna stay strong,” she says.
Miley also commented about the Avan Jogia story claiming that she kissed teen actor Avan Jogia during her 18th birthday party. “If you look at the picture, I’m turned away, and he’s kissing me on the cheek. It’s very hilarious to me that people say, ‘They’re making out.’ In making out, there’s a tongue,” she said.
As for her career, the teen sensation knows what she wants and that is making people smile. “Physical comedy is my thing. I love it. I still have a lot to learn, of course … but I’ve been on ‘Hannah Montana’ long enough that I know how to fall; I know how to put a pie in my face and make it funny. And there’s no better feeling than making someone smile.” Her latest project is the movie “LOL” in which she co-stars alongside Demi Moore and Ashley Greene.
