We’re counting the days till Christmas and we’re starting to get into the holiday season mood already with all the festive items we’re seeing lately. Though we’re still on the fence when it comes to Christmas-themed sweaters, we love festive creative ideas that are inexpensive and don’t require too much effort to create, so when we saw this Reindeer inspired Christmas bun hairstyle on the simpleasthatblog.com, we couldn’t help but fall in love immediately.
The Christmas bun hairstyle idea is perfect for kids and kids-at-heart alike and doesn’t take too much time to create. If you have 15 minutes to spare and a few basic tools, you have everything you need to create the cool look. Interested? If so, let’s look at the the supplies needed:
Necessary items:
- bobby pins
- pipe cleaners (for the antlers)
- red pom pom
- dark colored scraps of felt
- googly eyes (or eyes drawn on paper)
- strong adhesive glue or hot glue gun
Make two small antlers using the pipe cleaners. Add the googly eyes and the pom pom to bobby pins to ensure they will stay in the hair. Then, cut small circles from felt for the backing and slide the felt circle inside the hair pin. Glue the eyes and or pop pom to the felt, making sure that one section of the hair pin is glued between the felt and the eyes or pom pom. After you have all the reindeer pieces assembled, it’s time to focus on the hair and begin styling a bun.
A basic bun hairstyle held tight by a few pins is probably the best choice as it’s quick and simple to create even at the last moment and it’s a classic and timeless choice, however, a sock bun can be an equally great choice.
Once the hair bun is done begin to create the “reindeer”. To do so, place the antlers at the top of the bun, add the eyes and the red pomp pom in the center of the bun and you’re done!
