Robert Pattinson Thinks Twilight Fans are Weird

The young actor, breathing life into the character of Edward Cullen has real difficulties in coping with tremendous popularity and the millions of fans who launched a real craze, inspired by the Twilight vampire series. Robert Pattinson seems a pretty down-to-earth guy and it can be a real challenge to handle the pressure exercised on him by the various media sources together with admirers.

Therefore, Robert Pattinson thinks Twilight fans are weird. The concept of ‘private life’ is actually erased from the dictionary of these young teen idols, paparazzi are always on their track, making the most controversial pics in order to jeopardize their positive reputation.

Rob Petz states in his recent interview given to Vanity Fair, “It is weird. You have to wonder – what do they want? – I can’t really understand it even now. It does have an angle which is attached to something quite primal in girls. I guess people want it to define them, like, ‘I’m a Twilight fan’. That’s crazy to me.” Undoubtedly, the love of fans can be often a real burden, especially if you have to give up other important aspects of your life, in order to stay in the spotlight and meet their expectations.

Robert also revealed that he’s afraid even to have his own home, “I’m afraid of buying a house or anything because if there’s one paparazzo outside for one day, then they’ll never leave… the best way to deal with it is to move around all the time.” Staying in hotels is apparently the only method to have some privacy for Twilight celebrities.

While some are eager to swim in the fame and fortune, others would like to run away and start a new chapter in their life with a normal schedule. The Twilight craze also made Robert pretty paranoiac when meeting new people. He tells Vanity Fair that, “It’s funny now, trying to socialize with people. There’s this cautiousness about people which I just find really weird. Or I’ll be walking down the street and people will be like, ‘—- you!’ And I get a lot of people wanting to beat me up. Men in bars and stuff. I just leave.”

Finally, he admits that some will definitely judge him for being so ungrateful, in spite of the the love and admiration he receives, “But you’re not really allowed to complain about any of this. You’re just supposed to be grateful. And obviously I get it. You’re lucky and you should appreciate your luck. But, I mean, it just seems if you even hint that there’s a bad side to any of this people will be like – Liar! I guess it’s because people want to have it as a dream.”
