Vanessa Hudgens is the new cover girl of ‘Shape’ magazine April 2020. The 22-year-old hottie looks stunningly cute as always, flaunting a toned and lean figure. Inside, Vanessa opens up for the magazine and talks a bit about her old unhealthy eating habits, her exercising routine and shares a few tips on how she manages to stay in shape. The gorgeous actress confesses that her diet wasn’t always so healthy and speaks about her fast food addiction back in 2020.
“I was so unhealthy. I used to go to Cold Stone Creamery, get a tub of Butterfinger ice cream and eat it all before bedtime. And my fingers were permanently stained orange from Cheetos. When I came back [to High School Musical], I almost couldn’t get my costume on. When I finally got it zipped up, my boobs were up to my chin,” Vanessa told the magazine. She continued saying that, “The director, Kenny Ortega, saw me and said: ‘Whoa, mamacita, look at you!’ And I was like: ‘I don’t know where this came from!’ But I knew,” she admitted.
About her old eating habits Vanessa says that she never used to eat vegetables. “I lived on Hot Pockets and never touched vegetables; I needed to do something about my diet.” However, after making the change and going for a healthier diet, Vanessa admits that, “When you’re putting good stuff into your body, you feel so much better.”
But diet is not the only thing to consider, as exercising plays a major role too. The “Beastly” actress speaks about the importance of exercising saying that she also does Pilates, yoga and Spinning. “Exercise is amazing, from the inside out. I feel so alive and have more energy,” she says. Vanessa had to prepare intensively for “Sucker Punch” and she told the magazine how she managed to get in shape for the movie. “I knew it was going to be hard but I didn’t know how hard. In the beginning I could dead lift 135 lbs. By the end, I lifted 180 lbs. I was a monster …”
Last year in December, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron surprised everyone when they decided to split after nearly five years together. Speaking about her romance with her “High School Musical” co-star, Vanessa told ‘Shape’ that the relationship kept her realistic. “We grew up together. It was nice to have someone to share all those experiences with. It was a good thing. The relationship kept me grounded and because I was with someone who knew me so well, I didn’t need to try to be someone that I’m not,” she says.
Still, the two sweethearts split and the main reason seems to be their busy schedules. “Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what. When You don’t have face-to-face time, it’s just different. Having an iPhone helped but it wasn’t the same,” Vanessa told the magazine.
Candie’s new face and spokesperson, Vanessa confesses she would love to start a fashion line of her own. “Right now I’m pulling pictures from the Sixties and Seventies studying women like Cher and Bianca Jagger for inspiration. My style is boho chic. I love that time period – the patterns, the prints, the people, the music, the vibe. I figure if you love something so much, you should at least give it a try. And you may end up making a living from it too,” she says.
