It seems that Beyonce has decided to drop her dad as a manager after years of collaboration. Matthew Knowles has been her manager ever since the famous Destiny’s Child band was created and he has been doing a great job over the years as Beyonce’s career has been constantly blooming.
The fact that the two decided to part ways came as a shock to everyone and questions about the reasons the two decided to end their collaboration began to raise. However, according to Beyonce, the decision was mutual and was not a decision based on anything negative. Beyonce told UsMagazine in an exclusive interview that:
“I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
Beyonce, who is currently married to rap star and business mogul Jay-Z, has managed to keep a top spot in the entertainment industry for years now, with the help of her dad, so hopefully this change will not affect her career. Beyonce is reportedly planning to release a new album this year, so who will be the person backing her up?
So far Beyonce didn’t make a decision about who will replace her dad, but one thing is for certain: no one will manage to represent her interest as good as her own family! Matthew Knowles will now get to focus on other things such as gospel music and other artists such as Trinity 5:7, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, etc. Beyonce’s dad stated in an interview for Us that:
“Because of the success of all of these artists, my focus has to be on gospel now. I am also still going to continue on with my joint venture with Columbia to work on Destiny’s Child and develop new artists, like the UK pop band From Above, plus Music World’s kids music division.”
We can’t wait to see who will try to fill in Matthew Knowles’ spot as B’s manager and how things will work out for the two!
