Enjoy a special cover of Elle UK for the magazine’s May issue, featuring adorable and candid Reese Witherspoon who flaunts a smoking hot look. Photographed by Ben Hassett and styled by Heathermary Jackson at Chateau Marmont, Reese wears Emporio Armani, Hermes leather cuffs, and makeup by Avon.
Inside the magazine, in an editorial called “Reese Is The Word”, the beautiful 35-year-old actress, who married Hollywood agent Jim Toth at a ceremony in California last month, says that she was completely thrilled when Jim proposed to her. For the big day, Reese wore a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier gown and Jimmy Choo ‘Macy’ satin platform sandals.
Reese Witherspoon began dating 40-year-old Jim Toth in January 2020. In the cover story for Elle UK, the actress admits she feels “lucky” and “happy” to have found Jim.
“It’s an exciting feeling. [Somebody saying], ‘You’re the one.’ And it’s a surprise. You know, I’m surprised when people who aren’t related to me see my movies,” she explained. “And you’re surprised somebody wants to be with you because, boy, I’ve got a lot of quirks and wrinkles,” she told Elle.
The “Water for Elephants” star believes she was too young when she married her first husband Ryan Phillippe. The two met at Witherspoon’s 21st-birthday party. Then, two years later he proposed and they married in June 1999. They have daughter Ava, 11, and seven-year-old son Deacon together. They got divorced in 2020, after they both admitted openly that they have to work on their marriage.
“Oh, I was so, so young. I was, like, ridiculously young. I learnt a lot, though. It was an excellent opportunity for me to really find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage and it’s not anything that I thought it was,” Reese told the May edition of Elle UK. “You can’t say, ‘I don’t want to talk about that.’ You just can’t. You’ve got to talk about it all.”
The actress also talks about real friendship, saying that, “Friendships are work. You can only have a friend if you are a friend. You’ve got to be there. I really want to be the person who shows up for people when they need me. [My friends and I] tell each other everything. Stuff is hard to deal with, and we’ve gone through a lot together. I have an incredible support system.”
