The world is in shock after learning that singer Amy Winehouse is dead at just 27. Amy was known for her trouble with addiction to drugs and alcohol, bad habits she just couldn’t shed, and it seems that these vices have led Amy to her death.
Her first hit ‘Rehab’ was pretty close to reality as the diva has been in and out of rehab, but her addiction to alcohol and drugs was just too much. She was seen on stage intoxicated and even had to cancel her last tour because of her drinking. What seemed as just an issue which the diva was confronting, eventually took her life and that has left her fans and family in grief.
Amy Winehouse was found dead in North London, on Saturday, July 23, 2020 in her North London apartment. Apparently, the diva died following a drinking binge, but so far the police hasn’t issued a statement with regards to the true cause of her death.
In a statement given to The Sun, Amy Winehouse’s PR spokesperson Chris Goodman said: “Amy was on her own at home apart from a security guard who we had appointed to help look after her over the past couple of years. She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no-one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.”
Amy Winehouse’s family still can’t believe that Amy is gone and have released a statement saying that the soulful diva left a ‘gaping hole’ in their lives. According to People, the statement said: “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.”
Many of her fans have showed-up to pay a tribute to late Amy Winehouse and have brought bottles of vodka and beer, the singer’s favorite drinks.
