Zoe Saldana is definitely one of Hollywood’s sexiest actresses. The beautiful ‘Colombiana’ star is featured inside GQ for the magazine’s September issue. Zoe sits down for a chat and talks about her character saying she used to be a tomboy rather than girly, but also about her latest movie and the type of roles she would love to play.
Zoe looks smoking hot is the spread for GQ. However, even though it is rather hard to believe, the ‘Avatar’ star confesses she wasn’t always so sultry and feminine and that she is naturally a tomboy. The 33-year-old actress who lived in the Dominican Republic for seven years, remembers herself as having a rather tomboy character. Zoe says in the interview with GQ that she used to be “a feminine tomboy. I had my plastic swords, my ninja stars — but I still wore lipstick.”
In her latest movie, ‘Columbiana’, Zoe plays Cataleya Restrepo, a sexy tough girl who avenges her parents’ murders with machine guns and explosives. Zoe tells GQ that during a recent night out dancing, a fight broke out one table over from where she and her friend were sitting. While her friends started running away, the actress says she stayed and thought about what she was going to do next. “I knew exactly what I was going to do. Kick this door, grab this, move that guy out of the way. Then I started laughing: Oh, my God, I still have Cataleya in my system”, Zoe told the magazine.
Zoe, who had a breakthrough role in the 2000 film ‘Center Stage’, and later played Anamaria in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’, Uhura in the 2020 film ‘Star Trek’, and Neytiri in James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’, also speaks about choosing less common roles. Next year, she will star in a couple of marital dramas, yet don’t expect to see any devoted wives. “It gets pretty boring when all you are is the support system for a male character. I want to be in the small percentage of women who don’t settle for conventional roles,” the gorgeous actress says.
