For the ‘Whatever The Weather’ issue, i-D Magazine teams up with ex Spice Girl turned fashion designer, Victoria Beckham, to create a super stylish spread that shows off the flawless silhouette of the mother of four. Victoria also sits down for a chat with i-D where she talks about her journey through fashion, the newest addition to her family, baby Harper Seven and more.
Pushing through an array of obstacles that celebrities encounter when making their debut into fashion is not easy, but Victoria Beckham managed to do so effortlessly, proving that she had an impeccable fashion sense that evolved with time. Concentrating mostly on classic elegance, Victoria Beckham said that she evolved as she became more comfortable in her own skin. She told i-D that:
“When I started it was all about the corset dress. That’s what people associated me with, and possibly if I’m honest a sign of my own insecurities as well. But the older I get and the more comfortable I am in my own skin, the more I realize that to look great and feel great I haven’t always got to wear something tight.”
The years she spent in the spotlight as a pop singer and celebrity helped Ms. Beckham learn all the tricks that lead to a successful, uber-flattering fashion ensemble. As a celebrity, Victoria’s faced even the harshest fashion critiques that helped her learn how to dress to look flawless from all angles without having to follow any trends, but her instincts. She explains:
“I’ve stood on many a red carpet and been photographed from every angle, so I know how important it is for a dress to be flattering. I don’t follow fashion and I don’t follow trends, I just follow my instincts and think what do I want to wear? What am I feeling for next season?”
For the spread, Victoria Beckham posed seductively in Balmain, Body Rochas and Manolo Blahnik as well as her own designs. Check out Victoria’s flawless physique and find pout more about her life and style in i-D Magazine.
