Lady Gaga Reveals Her Bulimia Battle

Due to the huge pressure of the media, numerous celebrities decided to use radical methods to sculpt their body. Eating disorders are some of the most common issues our fave Hollywood divas struggled with. This time we can learn more about Lady Gaga who reveals her bulimia battle. According to her series of confessions, she suffered from this unfortunate condition in her teenage years.

The moment when bulimia started to threaten her voice, the famous singer decided to fight against this disorder. The details about her teenage problems were leaked at a young women’s conference in Los Angeles organized and hosted by Maria Shriver, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s estranged wife.

Gaga claimed that she suffered from bulimia in a period when she had serious confidence issues. Her father even tried to force her to eat more with different radical methods and tricks. The pop diva confessed that, she “used to throw up all the time in high school. So I’m not that confident. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night.[…]I used to come home and say, ‘Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin.’ And he’d say, ‘Eat your spaghetti’.”.

As soon as bulimia started to worsen the quality of her voice, Gaga decided to take measures and get rid of this unpleasant condition. She revealed that, “It made my voice bad, so I had to stop. The acid on your vocal chords – it’s very bad.[…]But for those of you who don’t sing, you maybe don’t have that excuse until it’s too late. It’s very dangerous.”

She admits that rising to the standards of the media is a real challenge, “Weight is still a struggle. Every video I’m in, every magazine cover, they stretch you – they make you perfect. It’s not real life.”

However, this time she wants to encourage girls to trust their values and keep away from extreme dieting. Lady Gaga added that, “I’m gonna say this about girls. The dieting wars have got to stop. Everyone just knock it off![…] Because at the end of the day, it’s affecting kids your age. And it’s making girls sick.[…] It’s really hard, but… you’ve got to talk to somebody about it.”

Gaga offered a final wise-saying to encourage teenage girls to ignore the pressure of society to become super-skinny: I’m encouraging you to know what you’re worth.[…] And know that no matter who has more money in class, who has more stuff, who has a country house — nobody is worth more than anybody else.”
