She’s constantly causing a stir with her ever-changing style, so no wonder that ‘You Da One’ singer Rihanna has landed the cover of Elle May 2020 where she posed seductively for the camera lens of Tom Munro, donning an array of ensembles, from sexy lingerie to stylish dresses. Between snapshots, Rihanna found the time to sit down for a chat with one of the magazine’s writers, where she shared info regarding her breakup with Chris Brown, the stir the rumors of their reconciliation caused, having kids and more, so check out highlights of Riri’s interview and find out what she had to say about her life.
Her relationship with Chris Brown caused a media frenzy back in 2020 when the diva was reportedly brutally beaten by her beau and although three years have passed since the horrific incident, the diva’s fans have not forgotten those days. On her breakup with Chris Brown, Rihanna says that:
“It gave me guns. I was like, well, fuck. They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. […] Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”
The fact that the diva appeared to have managed to get through the tough times and was seen partying in the same clubs as Chris Brown, plus the duo also collaborated on two songs in 2020, sparked rumors of a possible reconciliation and an outrage among Rihanna’s fans. The ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ tells Elle that she can understand people think differently but that won’t stop her from doing what she wants to do. She says:
“The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”
Kids are not really on Rihanna’s mind but she says that she thinks that when the time is right, God will bless her with a child, but says that she first needs a man by her side. She tells the magazine that:
“It could be tomorrow. It could be 20 years from now. I just feel like when the time is right, God will send me a little angel. But first, of course, I have to find a man. I mean, there’s a very important missing piece to the puzzle here!”
When it comes to finding the perfect guy, Rihanna reveals that she believes that celebrities have the same difficulties as everyone else and that what she’s looking for is a person that will balance her. She says:
“I feel like it’s hard for everybody! I don’t think it has anything to do with being famous. There’s just a major drought out there. […] But I just need to find the person who balances me out, because then things like my schedule won’t matter. I’ve done it before, so I know I can do it again.”
