It’s been ten years since singer Kelly Clarkson amazed an entire nation with her amazing vocals on the super popular TV series ‘American Idol’ and now she still manages to steal the spotlight. The songstress flaunts her new figure on the cover of REDBOOK, the magazine’s July 2020 issue. She’s faced plenty of criticism for her weight gain lately and now the diva is shattering all those negative comments by putting on display her new fit physique while posing confidently for Matt Jones’ lens for REDBOOK.

While showing off her fabulous silhouette, Kelly also chatted with one of the magazine’s writers and gushed on finding love, duets as well as her weight, so check out a sneak-peek of her interview with the magazine and find out what the 30-year-old hottie had to share with her fans.

Her weight gain drew a massive amount of attention, but apparently it wasn’t all the negativity of the comments surrounding her weight that determined Kelly to get in better shape and lose weight, it was her desire to be healthy. As far as her workout routine goes, Kelly revealed to the magazine that “I do cardio. I run. I strength-train using my own body weight. I don’t like free weights, because I build muscle easily. Really, what I try to instill in my fans is to be healthy and happy. I have no desire to be super-skinny.”

She radiates confidence and happiness and apparently it’s all due to the fact that she’s happy. She’s found the man to make her happy and it all seems surreal to Kelly as she tells the magazine that:

“…where’s the kick in the ass? I told my assistant that today. I said, ‘I’m just waiting for something to blow up.’ She said, ‘No, that’s what happiness is.’ I’m like, maybe I’ve never been happy! Because Brandon [Blackstock; her boyfriend] does, he makes me happy.”

As far as her experience on ‘American Idol’ and being a mentor on Duets, Kelly tells the magazine that she didn’t find her experience super exciting. She said:

“I’m going to be completely honest—I had no one looking out for me. They were looking out for the show, and it was horrible. I was 19 years old. I was smart enough to know that it wasn’t about me, but that didn’t make it any easier. I’m all cried out about it, but my first four years, I hated my life; I almost quit a dozen times.”
