Ashley Greene has received a lot of attention lately. Not just for her role in the Twilight franchise but also for her keen sense of fashion. If we’ve recently gotten the chance to see her as an elegant city girl in the DKNY fall 2020 ads, the Nylon magazine August 2020 issue presents a more casual side of her. The 25 year old star looks spectacular in a series of sexy yet classy ensembles in the newest photoshoot.

In the accompanying interview for the magazine, the star talks about her decision to keep her waitress job after landing the Twilight role as well as her upcoming movie, the thriller ‘The Apparition’ which is set to be released on August 24. The news that she has landed the important part was received with plenty of modesty by the star, even though the massive success of the franchise was fairly obvious from the very beginning.

She wanted to make sure she would still maintain her day job: “I was working at the Belmont Cafe in L.A., got the call, and two weeks later was rehearsing. Right when I was cast, my IMDb STARmeter [a chart that tracks actors based on how many searches are done on them] went through the roof – all of ours did, and we hadn’t even done anything yet! I asked my boss if I could have my job back after the shoot. He was like, “I don’t think you’ll need it but OK.”

She still puts her desire to do the best possible job every time ahead of her celebrity status and all the things that come with it: “I got [to my casting], and there were cameras all around me. Everyone’s so obsessed with celebrity, I think more than ever before. It’s the instant gratification of it – the tabloids an the Internet and the camera phones. We’re just so infatuated with it that basically everyone is a stalker. I was like, “Just let me do my damn job!”

In ‘The Apparition’, Ashley plays the role of a young woman hunted by a supernatural presence. However, it appears that she isn’t much of a ghost believer in real life which is why the role proved quite a challenge: “That was one of the more difficult aspects [while filming haunted house thriller The Apparition], because I try to make everything as realistic as possible; I want to experience what the character is experiencing. So to make myself believe there was something after me…it was a dark time.”

It seems, however, that feeling vulnerable was something she had little trouble displaying since she could relate to her life a bit: “Growing up, I didn’t have a hard life. Luckily, people are not the greatest in L.A., so once I got here and my heart was broken and people stabbed me in the back, I could use that to feel vulnerable.”
