Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan welcome their first child. The 32-year-old actress gave birth in London on Thursday and even though the first-time parents haven’t confirmed yet the baby’s birth or gender, friends told UsMagazine.com they are extremely happy following the arrival of their baby girl.
Jamie Foxx was among the couple’s first friends to offer his congratulations. He wrote on Twitter on Sunday: “Big luv 2 my @WHD costar @channingtatum + wife @jennaldewan + their new baby. Welcome 2 the world little Tatum.”
It seems that Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who confirmed her pregnancy in December, spent most of her pregnancy in London while Channing was filming his latest movie ‘Jupiter Ascending’. Still, production is set to move to Chicago next month, while the gorgeous actress will also start work on Lifetime TV series ‘Witches of East End’. However, a source told Us Weekly that, “The baby will get top billing as far as priorities go. Channing is going to be the most adorable hands-on daddy ever and do whatever is necessary to make sure Jenna can balance it all.”
Channing and Jenna met on the set of “Step Up” in 2020 but tied the knot in July 2020. Then, last year, in December the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.
Speaking about the pregnancy and her new body the actress said in an interview with Glamour that, “I thought my body was going to change so quickly with pregnancy that I’d freak out. But it was really gradual. There’s a reason women are pregnant for nine months; by the end, you’re ready to have this baby. Channing has been great. He takes the route of no confrontation, just support, saying things like, ‘Do whatever you want! What do you want to eat? I’m going to leave it up to you.’”
As on their parenting style, Jenna admitted that she doesn’t know what kind of parents her and Channing would be. “Who knows what kind of parents we’ll be? We have two dogs, so we’ve had some practice! And as soon as this baby comes into the world, Channing and I will figure it out real fast,” she told Glamour. “I think, how in the world am I going to do all this? I have no idea what I’m up against. But I’m as mentally prepared as I can be. It’s an adventure,” Jenna added.
