Chris Brown checked into rehab after the weekend altercation with 20-year-old Parker Isaac Adams outside the W Hotel in Washington D.C caused him and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, 35, to get arrested on felony assault charges last Sunday morning. On Monday morning, the charge was reduced to simple assault and he and his friend and bodyguard were released without bail. The singer is still on probation after his assault conviction for brutally attacking his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. He is facing four years in prison if a judge decides he violated his probation. He is required to return to court on November 25.
The incident revealed once again Chris Brown’s anger management issues which is probably why the singer voluntarily admitted himself in a rehab facility, even though he pleaded ‘not guilty’ for the charge. He was dropped off at the facility by his longtime attorney, Mark Geragos. His rep was authorized to give the following statement: “Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
Even so, attorney Danny Onorato, who represented him in court this time, is hopeful that his client won’t be found guilty, according to E!Online, emphasizing the fact that the decision is not an admission of wrongdoing: “We understand that his security staff acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property as is authorized by District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing,” he told the website.
The star is required to stay 100 yards away from the victim who allegedly tried to photo bomb him and whose nose was broke during the physical altercation. Another version is that the conflict started after the man tried to get in the star’s tour bus. Parker Isaac Adams chose not to make any statements on the matter.
