Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson worked with him on the 2020 film “Annapolis”, and complained about Franco’s “method acting”, which led to him being rude and aggressive on set. “I never want to work with him again, and I’m sure he feels the same way,” Gibson explained.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj
While most feuds between celebrities who can’t work together happen on a movie set, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj openly threw barbs at each other on “American Idol”. The problems started during the audition phase, and neither returned for another season of the talent show, but kept their feud alive on social media.
Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard
While Terrence Howard was first to be signed on for the Iron Man franchise, and claims that he helped Robert Downey Jr. land the part of Tony Stark, the actor was pushed out after the first movie. Howard claims Downey Jr. didn’t return his calls for three months, when producers told him he’d have to take a pay cut, so the star would get more.
Bill Murray and Lucy Liu
While neither Bill Murray, nor Lucy Liu have a reputation of being difficult, they’re also among the celebrities who can’t work together. Murray dropped out of the second “Charlie’s Angels” movie, and while there have been no official statements, rumors have it that they had a confrontation on set, in front of many crew members. Murray allegedly told her that she can’t act, and she resorted to physical violence.
Shia LaBeouf and Alec Baldwin
When two huge egos collide, it can either lead to a masterpiece or a disaster. Both Alec Baldwin and Shia LaBeouf have a reputation of being difficult and they couldn’t deal with working together in the Broadway play “Orphans”. LaBeouf left the production and it’s highly unlike that he’ll ever sign on to work with Baldwin again.
Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera
When it comes to celebrities who can’t work together, you can easily pair Lindsay Lohan with pretty much anyone, since the actress is still facing personal issues that affect her work. However, when Lindsay guest starred on “Ugly Betty”, her appearance was cut short, from 6 to 4 episodes, because the actress and America Ferrera, the star of the shows, did not get along at all.
Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith
One of the most outspoken directors, Kevin Smith had huge issues when he worked with Bruce Willis on “Cop Out”. Smith described the experience as “soul crushing” and Willis fought back in interviews, calling Smith a “whiner”. The fact that there’s not a single chance for working together again is pretty clear.

Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman
Even though “Kramer vs. Kramer” was a success, and both Meryl Strep and Dustin Hoffman won Academy Awards for their performances, the two ended up as celebrities who can’t work together. Hoffman was going through a real life divorce while filming the movie about a difficult divorce and custody battle. “I found out much later that he was really mad at me. I didn’t know that. I still don’t know why,” Streep explained in the 2020 documentary “Finding the Truth: The Making of ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’”.
Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes
During the filming of “Blade: Trinity”, Snipes and Reynolds did not get along and they haven’t worked together since. The source of the animosity was the fact that the studio was considering moving the franchise in the direction of a spin-off centered around Reynolds’ character.

Olivia Munn and Brett Ratner
Definitely among celebrities who can’t work together the actress and director had a public scandal. Ratner claimed he slept with her a few times but forgot about it, while Munn wrote that a director she once knew wasn’t well endowed, without directly pointing fingers.
