Many of the most hated celebrities in Hollywood have actually committed serious crimes, some simply rub people the wrong way. Regardless of the reason, many stars get a lot of hate, both in the press and online.
Based on Star magazine’s 20 Most Hated Celebrities list of 2020, with quite a few important updates here are the most hated stars. From the growing hate for Justin Bieber to long term loathing of Chris Brown, here are the celebs who get the most hate.
Justin Bieber
Slowly building his reputation as the world’s cutest douchebag, Justin Bieber has become a symbol of immaturity and entitlement for many.
His most recent antics include almost getting punched by Orlando Bloom in Ibiza, after telling him “What’s up, b****?” and saying “She was good” in reference to Miranda Kerr. The fact that Bieber didn’t take the well deserved punch, because he was protected by multiple bodyguards, made his hatefulness levels go even higher.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Definitely one of the most hated celebrities, Gwyneth Paltrow continues to rub people the wrong way, both through her lifestyle website Goop and her “conscious uncoupling” press release about her impending divorce. Now that her future ex-husband Chris Martin is dating one of the most likeable stars in Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth might become even less palatable for many.
Shia LaBeouf
After wearing a paper bag on his head on the red carpet with the words “I am not famous anymore”, Shia LaBeouf didn’t win any new fans. The plagiarism scandal and his angry tweets about it, aiming to explain what art is, convinced even more people he’s a hateful douche. Can Shia bounce back from his dip in popularity? Probably, but the 28 yeard old actor certainly doesn’t seem interested in what people think of him.
Kris Jenner
Rated higher than Kim on Star magazine’s list of most hated celebrities, Kris Jenner has been accused by many of teaching her children that being desperate for attention can be a lucrative endeavor. The Kardashian clan matriarch is the constant target of jokes, and some even blame her for Bruce Jenner’s appearance and cosmetic surgery.

Going from one of the most loved singes to one of the most hated celebrities is no easy feat, but Taylor Swift seems to have wasted all the sympathy she got after Kanye West interrupted her big VMA moment. Many hate her for what it looks like washing dirty laundry in public through her songs, while others hated her after she couldn’t take a joke from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

If Chris Brown continues to stay in the public eye, it make take decades to leave the list of most hated celebrities. Violent episodes with other singers have proven that he’s certainly still angry, and even if the Rihanna beating was magically forgotten, he’d still consider he was punished for it unfairly.
