Creams, lotions with high UV filter (15 – 20) are best to be used after the skin has tanned. You may use one with 5 -10 SPF if you’re already tanned and only after 16:00 or 4PM. The cream must be applied 30 minutes before the solar exposure, to be absorbed well by the skin. If you apply it when you get to the beach, don’t be surprised if you get burned in the first 10 minutes! Even if the packing writes that the product is water-proof, re-apply it after every bath. It’s safer. Anyway, it doesn’t resist to the harshness of the sea salt and the chloride from pools.
If you want to intensify the bronzeUse a tan booster, which has one drawback: low protection factor (2, even 0). If you mix it with a teaspoon of olive-oil and one of lemon juice and your skin will look gorgeous!
