How to Prevent Wrinkles

All women want to look better, feel younger and live a happy life. We want this, in most cases, without doing something dramatic or putting too much effort.

Even if surgery is an option, there are still many ways to prevent wrinkles. So what causes wrinkles?

Besides aging, which is, of course, a natural factor we can’t avoid. Studies have shown that the exposure to ultraviolet light, UVA or UVB, causes a lot of skin problems, some of them majors, such as cancer.

Wrinkles are a less harmful effect. So, the most important skin-care product available to prevent wrinkles is sunscreen. Sunscreens contain elements that physically block the radiation, or that absorb it. So if you are trying to pick the right sunscreen for you, be careful at its SPF (Sun Protection Factor).

How to Prevent Wrinkles

A good broad-spectrum sunscreen should have an SPF of at least 15 and contain avobenzone, titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide. The better applied, more protected you are. So make sure when applying it to all surfaces exposed to the sun – to apply it generously and at least a half an hour before going out in the sun, as it takes 20 to 30 minutes to be absorbed in the skin.

Sunscreen should be applied daily. The daily use of a low-SPF sunscreen (15) has been shown to be more effective in preventing skin damage than the intermittent use of a higher SPF sunscreen.

Age is a big factor when talking about your looks. Still, you can defeat it eating healthy, staying hydrated all the time, and using the right products for your skin.

The pharmaceutical industry offers a great deal of wrinkle busters, cell regeneration creams, laser resurfacing and facial treatments with retinol. And, of course, medical interventions. You should carefully consider every option.
