Dita Von Teese is working on her own fragrance. The 38-year-old burlesque beauty wrote on Twitter about the fact that she is currently working with perfumers in the French countryside, therefore confirming the already existing rumours. “Isolated at a chateau in the French countryside w/my perfumers,” Von Teese tweeted.
Even though there are no news whatsoever on the possible date of release, sexy Dita gave us a hint on the scent, so that we get ready for something really seductive and bold. “No fruit, no vanilla, no candy!! Velvet sensuality w/a dash of vulgarity! I want to evoke passion with fragrance….intense love/lust and distaste/fear rather than merely popular acceptance.”
Dita Von Teese has proved a special creativity and innovation spirit throughout her entire career and she refused to give up on her dreams. After being rejected in December by a major global perfume company because she isn’t as famous as other celebrities, Von Teese kept on fighting in order to launch a signature fragrance.
She told WWD that “What I really want to do is make my own fragrance. I don’t want to smell like anyone else. I have to talk to the smaller companies, because the bigger ones, like Coty, are like ‘Well, not everyone knows your name, like the Kardashians or Victoria Beckham.”
Dita wants to share her beauty secrets in a do-it-yourself beauty and style guide book coming out this year. The glamorous star told WWD that a woman can look fabulous without an entire team taking care of her. “I don’t go to the salon when I need to color my hair, I pull out my box of hair dye. I want women to understand that you don’t have to have the glam squad to put you together,” she said.
She also thinks of launching a makeup line. “I want to do my own makeup line, because I feel like things are missing in the world . . . I’m constantly trying to mix up colors. Also, I mix my own body makeup. I love the idea of beautiful packaging for cosmetics.”
