One of the most exciting beauty news of the moment is definitely the interesting collaboration between NARS and Andy Warhol foundation. The announcement of the news sure stirred a lot of excitement among beauty junkies. Now, we are ready to judge whether we want to have our 15 minutes of fame with the newest offerings from the label. The artist sure managed to be inspired by François Nars from an early age, which is why the new line manages to be such an important one for the makeup expert.
He told WWD.com that: “I have always surrounded myself with Andy’s work and even paid tribute to him in my past collections — Edie Eyeshadow, Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer, etcetera. “This just seemed like the right time to do [a bigger effort].” He tried its best to encompass the artist’s vision into his products and one statement made by the artist has been particularly important in creating the current line:
“Even more than 20 years after his death, Andy continues to be one of the most influential figures in both contemporary art and pop culture. Andy said, ‘If everybody’s not a beauty, then nobody is.’ This is the same sentiment I wanted to bring to life with Nars — a forward-thinking attitude toward beauty, and the encouragement to inspire self-expression, creativity, and artistry in the women who wear it. It seemed like a natural fit to create a collection that Andy himself might have a hand in if he were alive today.”
With such strong ideals it becomes fairly understandable why, instead of realeasing the entire collection in one go, the brand decided to split it into two stages: the first offerings will debut on October 1st at Sephora. The second set of offerings will only hit the department and specialty stores on November 1st. The first offerings include: the three eyeshadow palettes shown (Flowers 1, Flowers, 2, Flowers 3, each $55), the Lip Gloss Coffret featuring five new lip glosses ($55) and the Debbie Harry Palette ($65) also shown.
The holiday collection will offer five trendy nail polishes ($18 each), five Larger Than Life glosses ($26 each), four Soft Touch Shadow Pencils ($24 each), a 47th Street Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner ($23) and a Satellite of Love Highlighting Blush ($28). For those who like sets, a Siver Factory set($200) containing a Silver Factory Multiple, new Eyeshadow Trios, Chelsea Girls Pure Matte Lipstick, Desire Blush, Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner, Eyeshadow, Blush Brush. Alternatively, the Eddie Set(75) will feature Film Star Pure Matte Lipstick, Edie Eyeshadow, Carpates Eyeliner Stylo, Deep Throat/Amour Blush DuoShadow.
