The Alber Elbaz for Lancome makeup collection has stirred a lot of curiosity from the moment it was announced. A few sneak peaks now and then managed to keep interest alive building anticipation and ensuring beauty junkies count the days till the launch. The new designs are whimsical, cute and incredibly tempting…exactly what fans were hoping for. The Lancome Hypnose Show is a limited edition collection which will certainly become memorable.

Despite the fact that the Alber Elbaz for Lancome Hypnose Show collection doesn’t feature new products aside from a set of false eyelashes which come in a uber cute box, the popular makeup products included in the collection are bound to become instant vanity cabinet favorites. Unlike many projects which feel quite troublesome since they have to bring together two different aesthetics, the new Lancome collection designs were almost effortless for Lanvin’s creative director.

He revealed his thought process for WWD.com: “I thought if I were to do a project I would love to do a ‘happy eye’ project to make the eyes shine. It was all very easy somehow. When I saw Hypnôse Star, I thought, ‘I’ll do stars. But I’ll do it my way,’” he said. “When I saw [Hypnôse Doll Lashes] I thought, ‘Hearts will be right.’ And when I saw [Hypnôse Drama], I thought, ‘Dots — crazy dots, jumpy dots — will create drama, “ And he, sure did, in the best possible way. He also added that the process of creating makeup isn’t much different from other projects in fashion.

The nine-piece line is set to be launched in June worldwide and will most likely fly off the shelves with lightning speed. The Hypnose Doll Lashes, Hypnose Drama, Definicils, and Hypnose Star mascaras will retail for $29, the eyeshadow palette consisting of Rose Coquette, Taupe Craze, Mint Jolie, and Midnight Rush will be priced at $51 each. The false eyelashes set, which will be sold exclusively at Nordstrom will cost $35.

The rest of the products from the Lancome x Alber Elbaz collection will be available in the regular Lancome distribution channels. Before the line’s official launch, on the 3rd of June, Lancome will release a film created by Elbaz for the collection to further increase the excitement about the launch.
