Makeup guru Carmindy Bowyer is getting her own makeup line for HSN. After years of unveiling the wonderful possibilities makeup offers on the sets of ‘What Not To Wear’, the makeup artist has finally decided to venture into the world of cosmetics. The focus on positive reinforcements has defined her approach in the famous TLC show and this is exactly what the makeup artist will be focusing on with her new line.
“To be honest, I always thought there was a little magic in makeovers. While I was doing the makeup on these women, the thing you didn’t see is me talking to them about what to start focusing on. It’s no longer about hiding and concealing and fixing, it’s about enhancing and empowering and embracing your beauty and using makeup to play that up,” Carmindy told WWD.com.
She further explained that she is looking to provide versatile products that can help women get pretty on the go, rather than products that need a lot of time to apply: “What I find for the majority of women is they want fast and they want streamlined. If a product is too heavily pigmented or they aren’t sure how to use it, it sits at the bottom of their drawer. In my chair people always say to me, ‘I want to feel like me, only better.’”
Carmindy’s HSN makeup line includes these products: 5 Minute Face Collection ($59), Skin Zen Primer ($32), In Bloom Lip Crayon Trio ($32), Gamechanger Foundation ($35), and MesmerEyes Smokey Eye Kit ($36). Carmindy’s HSN makeup line will be expanded seasonally.
Although the makeup artist has worked with Sally Hansen on a beauty line back in 2020, this is the first time she’s really managed to express her views and create products accordingly, which is why she’s excited to bring the line to the market. “Having that platform of being on ‘What Not to Wear’ was amazing because I was able to get into households, I was able to be every woman’s beauty guru, be inspired and tell stories. I wanted it to continue in an entertainment space that empowered women,” she stated.
The new Carmindy for HSN beauty line will be launched on February 26 and 27 during the brand’s “Beauty Report”.
