When talking about Prada, everyone expects exquisite taste, beautiful and harmonious shapes, almost architectural and impressive textures.
When releasing the Prada 2020 cruise collection, Miuccia Prada surely managed to take a completely different direction than Chanel or Gucci did.
Recently, Miuccia talked about her contributions to fashion, feeling that one of them was the idea of going retro:
“One thing I did in my work was to go back to different eras . . . it was happening back in the ’80s and I think I was one of the first to do it. In the beginning, it was not even thinkable, so it was difficult, but now it is still in fashion, that kind of retro stuff.”
No wonder that the Prada 2020 cruise collection was full of brightly colored vintage prints. With a sense of tribal elements, but, in the same time, tropical ones, the Prada collection surprised everybody.
The collection brought on the runway a rather eclectic show – sarong-inspired satin skirts mixed just fine with preppy shirts, printed dresses, bold prints, shirts, varsity sweaters and sandals.
Prada’s low-dipping necklines were great with everything that means accessory, the handbags and the shoes in Prada’s cruise collection were amazing. Miuccia Prada applied a beachy influence to her Prada 2020 cruise collection, beautifully outlined by silk scarves pressed into service as ankle straps, scarf tops and dresses worn layered with miniskirts and scuba shorts.
