The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Sunday, January 12, revealed a heavy dose of glamor as celebrities flaunted the most exquisite designer dresses that triggered a media camera flash frenzy.
The 2020 Golden Globe Awards celebrity red carpet style includes some wonderful surprises and some disappointments as some celebs that were high contenders for the best dressed title seem to have caved under pressure and went for some questionable designs. On the other hand, some celebrities, including Lupita Nyong’o – the nominee for the role of Patsey in the movie 12 Years a Slave, who managed to wow the audience in her off the shoulders cape style red Ralph Lauren dress – gathered only stars from style critiques for their faultless 2020 dress choices.
Another celebrity red carpet style from the 2020 Golden Globe Awards to be praised, was that of Zoe Saldana, who went for a sexy-edgy sheer panel dress from Prabal Gurung’s spring 2020 collection. The bombshell matched her intricate dress with nude pumps, a pink tone Bottega Veneta clutch and Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings.
The lovely Sophia Vergara chose to make a stunning apperance at the 2020 Golden Globes by opting for an all black ballgown signed Zac Posen pre-fall 2020. The Modern Family actress finished the look with a gorgeous contrasting color Lorraine Schwartz statement necklace in turquoise.
Jaws dropped at the arrival of Kate Beckinsale on the red carpet at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards as the actress wore a stunning strapless mermaid-style dress from Zuhair Murad’s fall 2020 couture collection. A simple box clutch by Edie Parker, Lorraine Schwartz and Chopard jewelery completed her look.
Emma Watson is always a delightful presence on the red carpet and her style choice for this red carpet event did not disappoint. Taking her style a bit more towards edginess, but still keeping it quite feminine, the actress went for an interesting Christian Dior open-back outfit which she paired with black capri pants and purple Roger Vivier ‘Ergo Sexy’ pumps.
Maria Menounos looked oh-so-hot in her sheer panel insertion neon pink Max Azria Atelier maxi dress. The actress completed her look with shoes signed Jerome C. Rousseau, Emm Kuo clutch and LoveGold jewelry by Jennifer Fisher.
Golden Globe winner, Jennifer Lawrence, surprised with her dress choice for the 2020 Golden Globes. The actress is rarely seen committing style-crimes on the red carpet, but this time most stylists believed she could have done a better choice. The actress wore a strapless white Christian Dior fall 2020 Couture dress cinched at the waist and hips by two black inch-wide black ribbons.
Singer Taylor Swift arrived at the 2020 Golden Globes wearing a gorgeous train red and black color-block dress from Carolina Herrera’s pre-fall 2020 collection. The singer allowed her dress to shine by keeping accessories to a minimum.
Cate Blanchett was one of the most elegant red carpet appearances at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. The actress looked amazing in an open back black lace gown with sheer effects from Armani Privé’s Fall 2020 Couture collection. Cate completed her exquisite look with Jimmy Choo ‘Esam’ pumps.
Reese Witherspoon was also praised for her red carpet dress choice at the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards. The actress wore a gorgeous yet simple Calvin Klein dress in turquoise, dress that showed off her enviable silhouette. A simple black clutch and Harry Winston diamond jewelery completed her look.
Amber Heard looked fabulous in a navy one shoulder, side slit dress from Atelier Versace. Her look was completed by Jimmy Choo ‘New Mariah’ black platform sandals and Graziela Gems earrings.
Sandra Bullock seems to have managed to divide the audience’s opinion as she chose to stray from her usual red carpet style choice and went for a not-so-memorable color block V-neck dress from Prabal Gurung’s pre-fall 2020 collection.
