The London Fashion Week Fall 2020 edition has brought a variety of interesting options so far, especially for those who love the effect prints can have on an outfit. Many labels have decided to base their new line on maximalist ensembles that instantly steal the spotlight and brought several thought provoking ensembles worth taking into account. If for some, whimsical prints and liberal use of contrasting texture are part of the brand’s identity, for other designers eye-catching prints were an unexpected but very pleasant surprise. LFW Fall 2020: Mary Katrantzou Fall 2020 RTW Collection
Prints are part of the Mary Katrantzou’s label aesthetic DNA, so it’s no wonder some of the best printed pieces spotted at the London Fashion Week so far, were part of the Mary Katrantzou fall 2020 collection. Though the designer is mostly known for her attention grabbing digital prints, this time she decided to take her affinity for lovely prints in a new direction, taking inspiration from uniforms and badges. She went for feminine yet sporty silhouettes, bringing a multitude of sunning long sleeved short and floor length dresses, metallic elements, and several asymmetric touches. LFW Fall 2020: Temperley London Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The Temperley London fall 2020 collection was a surprising and wonderful display of eclectic pieces. After a glamorous ’60s inspired spring 2020 line, designer Alice Temperley adopted a slightly more practical approach and brought many interesting pieces. The sources of inspiration for the new motifs were diverse: there were Art Nouveau influences, Byzantine mosaic patterns, lovely floral prints and a variety of other eclectic motifs. LFW Fall 2020: House of Holland Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The House of Holland fall 2020 collection was undoubtedly one of the most whimsical collections presented in the first days of this London Fashion Week edition. Designer Henry Holland brought an explosion of color with each look he sent down the runway. An interesting melange of textures and prints made the new looks memorable. Metallic accents, ’60s inspired prints, colorful fur, sequins or ripped denim, were just some of the elements that were cleverly combined for a memorable effect. LFW Fall 2020: Holly Fulton Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The Holly Fulton fall 2020 collection was defined by lovely feminine prints. Among the main sources of inspiration that defined the designer’s new creations was the 1929 film “Man With A Movie Camera”. The designer focused on a variety of graphic prints, retro shapes, pleats, glittering knits and an array of feminine elements for the new line which seemed to take a lot of references from the ’80s, given the many disco influences that could be spotted. LFW Fall 2020: Matthew Williamson Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The Matthew Williamson fall 2020 collection was filled with bold ensembles with a decidedly feminine allure. The designer, who worked with Danielle Scutt for the first time, decided to revamp the brand’s image. With the vision of freshening up the idea that “the jet-set, bohemian girl” is the one that wears the brand’s clothes, the duo brought an eclectic set of options featuring many crystal embellishments, a multitude of colorful prints, fab metallic accents and several colorful fur and leather pieces.
