Celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic showed up in London at the ELLE Style Awards 2020, to present and receive awards for special achievements in fashion and entertainment. See the best and worst dressed celebrities at the ELLE Style Awards 2020.
At the end of the London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2020, the ELLE Style Awards were held at One Embankment and the red carpet featured plenty of eyecatching looks, from gorgeous gowns to less inspired choices. Here are the best and worst dressed from this year’s ELLE Style Awards.
Emma Watson
The English actress wore a Giambattista Valli Couture dress with origami detailing and a sequinned top, showing up on the red carpet with just the right combination of elegance and current trends.
Watson was honored at the ELLE Style Awards 2020 as “Actress of the Year” and completed her look with a messy updo that still came off as sophisticated.
Felicity Jones
Wearing a Christopher Kane creation, Felicity Jones also presented him with the award for “British Designer of the Year”. The pink dress might look a bit prom on the bottom, but the snakeskin panels on the top take it away from junior territory. Pairing the dress with black heels and a simple updo with bangs, Felicity Jones was clearly on the best dressed list at the ELLE Style Awards 2020.
Katy Perry
Another big winner at the London ceremony, Katy Perry received the “ ELLE Woman of the Year” award from Kylie Minogue. Wearing Vivienne Westwood and Christian Louboutin jeweled pumps, Katy Perry made all the right choices, but the draping of her floral print dress ended up looking less than flattering on her figure.
Olga Kurylenko
The French actress and former Bond Girl wore Isabel Marant as she presented the designer with the award for “Contemporary Designer of the Year”. Her sparkling mini-dress with a strappy top was definitely a winner, but Kurylenko wore it perfectly with a side braid and nude pumps in order to make the best dressed at ELLE Style Awards 2020 list.
Rita Ora
Singer Rita Ora opted for Marchesa on the red carpet. At first site, her white gown looks too princessy, but the black belt and slicked back hair took the look into more edgy territory. Ora presented Tinie Tempah with the award for “UK Recording Artist (Male)” along with Ellie Goulding.
Karolina Kurkova
The Czech supermodel was a stunning appearance on the red carpet wearing a Fyodor Golan Fall 2020 sequin dress. The black dress features feather detailing and an asymmetrical hem for a look that was bound to make her one of the best dressed at the ELLE Style Awards 2020. Kurkova later took the stage at the award ceremony to present Nicola Formichetti with the “Fashion Innovator” award.
Lily Allen
After making a splash at the BAFTAs in a Vivienne Westbook colorblocked gown, Lily Allen chose a much more toned down look: a black dress from the Roland Mouret Resort 2020 collection. Picking up the award for “UK Recording Artist (Female)”, Lily Allen also impressed with her style choices: a Chanel clutch and mismatched earrings.
Poppy Delevigne
Wearing an ochre dress by Emilia Wickstead, model and socialite Poppy Delevigne also presented the designer with the “Red Carpet Designer of the Year” award. Poppy made the best dressed at ELLE Style Awards 2020 helped by her style choices. The lace long-sleeved top was the center of attention and was perfectly complimented by a sleek updo.
Jessie J
At the top of the worst dressed list at the ELLE Style Awards 2020, Jessie J paired an already busy Tom Ford Spring 2020 dress with high lace up boots. Since the detailing on the fuchsia mini dress should be the center of attention, the boots were unnecessary and the velvet clutch was another uninspired choice.
Ellie Goulding
Pantsuits are making a comeback on the red carpet, and Ellie Goulding pulled off a glamorous look with her choice from the Matthew Williamson fall 2020 collection. The satin jumpsuit also featured sheer paneling with white stars, so the singer was wise to keep her makeup and accessories very simple.
