The latest Zuhair Murad fall 2020 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week came as a total surprise for the brand’s fans as the Beirut-based fashion designer chose to take a much softer approach to style with his new lineup.
The recognizable fashion house that swept Hollywood A-listers off their feet, style icons such as Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Blake Lively to name a few, is renowned for its high-glam, innovative designs that ultimately became the label’s signature, but for this upcoming season, Mr. Murad chose to cut-back on glitzy-glam accents and create fashionable garments that have a more relaxed feel and a more wearable appeal compared to what we’ve been used to seeing at the designer’s shows but that doesn’t mean that the designs lacked that high-end chicness, on the contrary, the designer proved once again his genius and his ability to help bring simple cuts to the highest peaks of elegance!
In an interview dating last year, Zuhair Murad accentuated the fact that he is not a minimalist designer as he loves details and this particular lineup demonstrates the designer’s love for patterns that look sexy yet elegant and that are enhanced by fabulous color-combos, lace insertions, embroidery accents, paillette applications and draping effects – all of these being elements that helped push the designer to international recognition.
Zuhair Murad’s fall 2020 collection debuted with a rather bold, somewhat glam-somewhat dark soft flare short dress that displayed elegant tone-on-tone embroidery on its sides, thus adding a bit of sexiness to a relatively simple cut dress. Next came fabulous shirts, tops and skirts that looked elegant yet sexy as well as some form fitting dresses displaying fabulous prints and embroidery details that looked divine. To our surprise, the lineup included two polka-dotted mesh insertion dresses, one midi and the other maxi, that made us think about Stella McCartney’s fall 2020 collection. Other than these familiar patterns, the rest of the collection was original, flirty and fun.
The maxi dresses displayed throughout the collection were focused of accentuating the woman’s seductive silhouette through cuts that emphasized the waist and created the impression of an hourglass body. High side slits, mesh insertions, lace and embroidery details created that stand-out elegance that women easily fall for, so don’t be surprised if these frocks make it to the red carpet events later this year!
Laid back chicness made its present felt through the pant-ensembles and the fab heavy floral prints that came as a breath of fresh air and balanced the rest of the collection that was set on timeless black and white shades. Although not near as glamorous as his spring 2020 couture collection, Zuhair Murad’s dresses for fall 2020 are totally worth your attention and appreciation as each fashion piece fuses faultlessly elegance, modernism and sexiness!
