The Issa London x Banana Republic collection will hit the stores starting with August 8. Ever since the collaboration was announced, we’ve been dying to see what the line would be like as the sketches looked very promising. Now that we finally had a first look at the new line, we are glad to see that it offers versatile options with a classy allure.

One of the standouts of the new line is a blue wrap dress inspired by Kate Middleton’s engagement dress. It’s no secret that Issa London was one of the brands the Duchess of Cambridge relied on for the classy garment that instantly fascinated, so the two retailers decided to put their style ideas to good use. This is how Banana Republic creative director Simon Kneen came up with the idea: “We knew our customers would be thrilled to experience royal fashion at a Banana Republic price point.”

Recent events prove that he is absolutely right. The same day Kate Middleton presented her son to the anxious crowd wearing an adorable bespoke Jenny Packham polka dot dress, the labels’s website crashed. That dress is not for sale unfortunately, but the non-isolated event just goes to show how powerful the “Kate effect” really is. The blue wrap dress isn’t the only one that could easily prove a favorite for the Dutchess of Cambridge as all the options included in the sneak peek for the Banana Republic x Issa London collection were created with the same concept in mind.

The Banana Republic x Issa London collection will bring several dress styles, sweaters, totes and accessories, all in the $39.50 – $150 range. The most important attribute of the new line is its versatility, this according to Simon Kneen, who offered a few helpful styling tips for the pieces from the new line to ELLE.com saying:

“This collection easily translates from day to night. For the chic and sophisticated, a jewel-tone dress paired with a blazer can easily take your style from desk to date. For the bold and daring, a zebra print kimono dress paired with a neutral cardigan creates a balanced look. The trick for transitional dressing, especially for pre-fall, is layering.”
