The Isabel Marant for H&M launch party happened in Paris and gathered many fashion icons. The party had a distinguishable 90s vibe to celebrate the era when the famed designer launched her eponymous label and became a popular designer. Audrey Tautou, January Jones, Freida Pinto and Alice Dellal were just some of the celebrities present at the event.
All of them rocked gorgeous looks from the bohemian-inspired Isabel Marant for H&M collection which will hit the stores starting November 14. The event brought live performances form Grandmaster Melle Mel and Rappers Delight, however it was still quite modest according to the famed French designer’s standards: “We wanted to present the collection in a way that felt real and casual, not a red carpet extravaganza: this is how I see my work. I design for everybody and am constantly inspired by the world I see around me, so it felt natural to have an urban setting as the backdrop for the event.”
Though it’s fairly obvious why the party had to be held in Paris, she went to explain that: “And it had to be Paris, because the city is part of my DNA.” Though the ladies donned several chic ensembles worth exploring, it’s a shame that the same could not be said about the gents. The French designer made a big stretch in her comfort zone by also bringing gorgeous ensembles for men, however the Isabel Marant for H&M launch party simply didn’t feature inspirational combos for stylish gents.
Even so, January Jones was ecstatic about the fact that she got the honor to be invited at the party and went to praise the label’s newest collaboration by saying: “I think it’s really cool when a high-end designer does a collaboration like this and makes their designs easily accessible to everyone. The pieces are awesome – and coveted.” Well, we can’t really argue with her on that one, as the pieces are true eye candies which are bound to sell out incredibly fast.
