Believe it or not, designers are ready to showcase their fall 2020 collections. New York, London, Paris, Milan… With major fashion weeks less than a week away, we took a peek and revisited some of their hottest past offerings. And Emilio de la Morena at London Fashion Week couldn’t escape our raid. A purveyor of a structured, clean and understated decadence, the famous designer is emerging as one of London’s most exciting new talents. His main purpose is to create something fresh from modernizing old and obscure craftsmanship techniques. And we love it!
Born in the Mediterranean city of Alicante in Spain, Emilio relocated to Britain in 1993. In 2020 Emilio felt a compulsion to pursue his creative vocation, studied fashion Design at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion and has since been appointed by some of the industry’s most innovative designers including Rafael Lopez and Jonathan Saunders. De la Morena’s signatures are described by a sculptural chic flare.
His ideal client? Well, who could describe the Emilio de la Morena woman better that the designer himself? “She is first and foremost strong, modern and in control. She knows her own mind and is not afraid to stand out; nor is she scared of expressing herself in a vibrant and bold way. She loves playing with her personality and uses dress to express the many layers of her character, always managing to strike the right balance between elegantly refined and provokingly sexy,” Emilio explains.
Emilio de la Morena’s collections make every woman want to embrace all-things-sexy and feminine. His spring 2020 line featuring fine embroideries and organza dresses is a great example in this sense. Sexy and sculptural are the designer’s creations from his spring 2020 collection. A change could be spotted in Emilio’s fall 2020 line in matters of color. So, bright hues were replaced with rather darker shades.
However, Emilio de la Morena at London Fashion Week for spring 2020, wanted to take a journey into the designer’s previous collections. “I felt I wanted to bring back memories from the past,” the Spanish designer told Vogue UK backstage.
Okay, so now we hardly wait to see what de la Morena has prepared for his fall 2020 presentation that will take place on February 19 at London Fashion Week. Remember to come back for updates!
