Sonia Rykiel at Paris Fashion Week is finally happening today! Ah, all you gorgeous dolls must remember Sonia Rykiel’s spring 2020 collection! Well, we definitely do! In fact, who can forget those colorful and playful goodies that the famous designer showcased at Paris Fashion Week. Described by Christian Lacroix as “a paradox” and “elegant and erotic, distant and sensual”, Rykiel always managed to fascinate fashion addicts with her never-seen-before designs. Stripes and bright colors, shirtdresses, jumpsuits, shorts, wide-legged pants, fedoras… The designer’s spring 2020 collection featured a wide range of cheerful pieces oozing maximum energy and optimism.
The designer’s fall 2020 collection was also filed with colorful feminine goods. In fact it was Sonia’s daughter, Nathalie Rykiel, to create those dresses, skirts, pullovers decorated with bows, long tunics featuring three-dimensional appliqué, fox stoles, but also some elegant oversized coats.
The Sonia Rykiel spring/summer 2020 fashion show marked the official debut of April Crichton as creative director of the house. The collection included striped sweaters, marabou coats, forties dresses, fedoras, while the color palette was sober than usual. There were hues of vanilla, cream and rose accented by warm terracotta, English and French mustards and coral.
For the fall 2020 collection, Crichton took inspiration from an image of Sonia in her Saint-Germain apartment. So, the line featured cozy knit skirtsuits, intarsia pullovers, cropped tops, cardigans, pencil skirts, and chic dresses.
The Sonia Rykiel resort 2020 line had as main source of inspiration the downtown New York art scene of the late 70’s and early 80’s. “The women were so outgoing and vibrant,” said April Crichton. “They weren’t afraid of getting dressed and having a good time.” Now, on March 1 we’ll have the possibility to see the Sonia Rykiel fall 2020 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Therefore, make sure you check back for updates!
