Masculine influences fused with intense sensuality dominated the Alexandre Vauthier spring 2020 couture collection unveiled at this year’s haute couture show in Paris. The designer who loves to play with precise yet radical cuts has yet again made a positive impact on the fashion scene as no woman can resist the alluring power of tuxedo inspired designs!
The display of intricately constructed garments that seem destined for the modern Bond girl have a very strong vibe that keeps attention focused from start to finish. Obviously, the designer’s signature style brought by bold cuts was put on full display when the models that opened the show started parading the lovely tuxedo-inspired garments featuring plunging necklines, straight line cut-outs and mesh shirts that brought an instant flush to our cheeks. One of the most daring designs was actually a blouse that featured bold cut out lines and an intentional nip-slip that helped emphasize the boldness brought by the cuts, but the question is: who’s up for some ‘indecent’ exposure?
Well, letting this particular garment aside, the collection was kept quite balanced with straight-cut trousers, biker leather jackets, clean-chic tuxedos, lacy detailed bustiers and fabulous dresses. Since we are talking about couture fashion, Alexandre Vauthier chose to play with lightweight chiffon, heavy paillette embellishments, high and sexy slits as well as upper body revealing cut outs or mesh insertions that wowed the public with their sizzling boldness!
Crystal embellished chokers were visibly present throughout the collection as they were created to be a functional part of the design and that helped add a glamorous touch to the somewhat architectural garments.
The spring 2020 couture collection was dominated by black colored fabrics but a couple of outfits displayed midnight blue and white accents, details that helped ease the somberness brought by achromatic hues. However, la pièce de résistance of the collection was kept for the grand finale when a halter neck top-to toe crystal embellished dress was put on display, a silver and nude mix gown that got everyone’s attention. If you’re looking for designs that will upgrade your style all while maintaining a classic, mysterious yet sexy allure, Alexandre Vauthier’s couture 2020 designs are definitely up for the challenge!
