Need help to accessorize your holiday combos? Well, if you’re on the hunt for some seriously lovely goodies to complete your outfits, just have a nosey at the latest Ban.do fall/holiday 2020 collection packed full with some very special handmade eye-catchers. Describing the Ban.do girl, Jen, one of the label’s designers, said in an interview with stream.fidoo.com that the brand’s customer is “smart… super smart, sexy, isn’t afraid of color, willing to take a risk.” “I would say the Ban.do customer is a fresh, modern consumer that wants a fashion forward accessory,” Jamie added.
Imagine metallic pom pom flowers, boom boom flower combs, drinking the stars combs, to-die-for bobbi pins, pop rock headbands, double trouble headwraps, flurry poufs, smooch brooches and pins, cosmic collars, metallic scarves, heart shoe clips. Boy oh boy, we’re completely hooked!
Okay, so these pieces are in fact real conversation-starters. But, what does ‘bando’ mean? “We were kind of all over the place just trying to come up with something clever, we were going to be the ‘Kleenex’ of hair accessories, and the French name for headband is bandeau, so we thought it would be cool to sort of play on that,” Jamie said in the same interview with stream.fidoo.com.
The newest Ban.do fall/holiday 2020 collection is filled with uber-cool and chic goods that guarantee to spice up any outfit. Besides, the uniqueness and awesomeness of these accessories are undeniable. Still, what is the duo’s main source of inspiration? Do they follow the trends when designing? “I don’t think that’s really where we are driven, it was a very organic thing from the get-go. We are acutely aware of what’s going on in fashion, but I think it’s more so about what we like and what fits. Jamie and I are both fashion risk takers – clearly – and when we started it was really more personal, we were making one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and we try to keep it more individual but at the same time having a bit more mass appeal,” Jen explained. As on the signature heart that can be seen on lots of pieces, she said that, “As it turns out, people love hearts. Our sequin heart, which is a big part of what we do, was an accident. We were describing something else to our manufacturer and we got this, and it ended up selling really well.”
