Rita Ora caused quite a confusion last night as she rocked her new blonde bob. Her hair looked strikingly similar to Beyonce’s new bob hairstyle and many fans believed that she’s made a surprise appearance at the show. The confusion was quickly cleared up as everyone got to see her up close.
Lady Gaga also made quite an impression as she sported a new black hairstyle, presumably a wig, which matched her all black outfit. She kept her makeup on the discreet side, allowing her dark tresses to become the focal point.
Ciara was another star who decided to explore the dark side. She got fed up with blonde locks and decided to make a change for fall: “I’ve had the blonde hair for so long, and I got to the point where I really needed a change, and the timing of fall worked out because I do like changing my hair with the season,” she told US Weekly. She did leave a few blonde highlights for a more interesting effect though and added a few waves for an effortless chic allure.
Rihanna’s short hairstyle has been styled for piece-y texture with a shiny finish. Another interesting highlight of the evening was Miley Cyrus‘ twisted raver buns hairstyle. She styled her short locks in two tiny buns, which definitely got people talking. On the other hand, Coco Rocha chose a completely different styling for her fab pixie haircut. She rocked a cool wet look, which oozed edginess.
Though Katy Perry didn’t mess with her signature dark dresses she did attract a lot of attention. Her high ponytail hairstyle was a flattering choice for her, but we think that the grill was the focal point of her look.
The 2020 VMAs hairstyles were mostly defined by modern influences. This is why, Taylor Swift, who channeled old Hollywood glamour with a gorgeous faux bob hairstyle made quite an impression on the viewers.
Among the stars who decided to keep things simple hairstyle-wise were Selena Gomez, Joan Smalls and Jennifer Hudson. Both of them chose glossy pin straight tresses and simple classy makeup looks.
Erin Wasson was another star who chose a fairly simple look. Her tousled braid pared with a black turban wasn’t the typical red carpet look we’ve grown used to, but it was definitely thought-provoking.
