Tangy and sweet tamarind is found is most of the households to add flavor to the food. It is generally eaten raw, or made in the form of jelly and chutney to be served as a dip. But most of us are unaware of the fact, that it is good for our skin’s health too.

To make the pack, use 2 teaspoons of fresh tamarind pulp, half a teaspoon each of sandalwood powder and multani mitti, two spoonfuls curd, 5-7 drops of rose water and mix in a clean bowl to make a fine paste. Apply the paste to the skin and let it stay for 20 minutes. After the pack dries, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Make sure you use a non-metallic brown to make the paste. The pack refreshes the skin and keeps it away from acne and pimple problems. This is one of the best tamarind face packs.

Turmeric And Tamarind Face Pack:

For the pack, you need to boil about 30 grams of tamarind in 100 ml water. After it is boiled, strain the pulp in a bowl. Use about a teaspoon of pulp and add half a teaspoon of turmeric to it. Apply on the skin and leave till it dries. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry the skin. Apply moisturizer if you feel the skin stretching.

Before using the pack, make sure you do a patch test of you have sensitive skin. It is not advisable for acne and pimple prone skin to use the pack as it may increase irritation. It is a good tamarind face pack.

Tamarind And Honey Face Pack:

This pack instantly lightens the skin with all its bleaching agents. To make the pack, use boiled tamarind pulp, lemon juice and honey in equal proportions and mix well. Apply on the skin and leave for 20 minutes. Then wipe the pack with moist cotton and rinse of well with cold water. The pack causes little burning sensation initially. Continue using the pack only if the sensation is bearable to prevent rashes and redness on the skin. Also try it on a little portion of your skin first before application of the entire face.

Tamarind And Curd/Cream Face Mask:

Take a teaspoon of raw tamarind pulp; add one teaspoon sea salt and one teaspoon curd of you have oily skin or a teaspoonful of cream if you have dry skin. Mix the ingredients well and apply on the face. Leave the pack to dry. Moist the hands with cold water and gently exfoliate the skin before finally rinsing off the pack. This removes oil and dirt from the skin and makes it soft. The salt granules help remove blackheads and impurities from the skin and help close open pores of the skin. These face packs can be used up to twice a week to show effective results in about three weeks. Care should be taken and tamarind should not be used in high quantity as it might cause inflammation of the skin and redness.
