Moisturizing is a crucial part of an adequate skin care and as a result it makes quite a lot of sense that the skin care industry sells more than 7 billion dollars to American women alone. But how much would you be willing to spend for the perfect moisturizer? A new project challenges our perception of how much the right moisturizer can be. Japanese beauty company Clé de Peau Beauté is planning on launching the world’s most expensive moisturizer.
To celebrate 30 years in business, the label is launching only three jars of less than two ounce moisturizers for a staggering price of $13 000 each. This makes the new moisturizer five times more expensive than gold per gram. “We do not usually make limited editions of our products, but this is to mark a special occasion for the Clé de Peau Beauté line. We hope it will appeal to our loyal customers and people who are interested in gorgeous brands,” spokesman Megumi Kinukawa stated.
Given the exclusiveness of the product, the packaging is certainly out of the norm. The moisturizer bottle has 30 layers of crystal and will be housed in handmade jars topped with three platinum rings. Furthermore, this fabulous product couldn’t go unnoticed so it will naturally benefit from a massive ad campaign. The brand has tapped the renowned actress Amanda Seyfried to promote this ultimate luxury product. The label is planning to launch the three moisturizers this fall, more specifically on September 21 to mark the anniversary of the label.
