1932, the newest Chanel fragrance for 2020, is dedicated to a very special anniversary. The new Chanel perfume commemorates 80 years since the first jewelry collection launched by Coco Chanel.
A new addition to the Les Exclusifs de Chanel collection, Chanel 1932 is the 14th fragrance in the line and was developed by Jacques Polge, master perfumer at Chanel.
Despite its name, the Chanel 1932 new fragrance doesn’t bear much resemblance to the classic Ivoire perfume, launched 80 years ago, along with the classic line of jewelry by Coco Chanel.
The new fragrance has been available since last year to some Chanel jewelry customers, but it’s making its public debut in February 2020.

From the first notes Chanel 1932 seems like one of the classic Chanel scents, elegant and restraint and most importantly aldehydic.
Inspired by the Bijoux de Diamantes jewelry collection from 1932, the Chanel fragrance for 2020 evokes a dazzling array of diamond stars and comets.
Chanel 1932 New Fragrance: How Does it Smell?
Described as a woody fragrance with an enveloping heart of White Jasmine, Chanel 1932 has a powdery composition with a strong floral touch.
Top notes include aldehydes along with fresh citrusy flavors like neroli and bergamot. The heart of Chanel 1932 is based on jasmine, but also has strong hints of rose, lilac, carnation and ylang-ylang.
The base of the Chanel fragrance for 2020 is sweet and woody, with notes of sandalwood, opoponax, vetiver, vanilla, orris, incense, ambrette, musk, coumarin and the iralia molecule that strongly reminds of violet and iris.
Early Reviews of Chanel 1932
Some lucky Chanel customers already had the chance to try the new fragrance and noted that it clings much better to fabrics than to skin.
Unlike the 1932 jewelry collection, the new Chanel fragrance is tender and airy and the top notes perfectly fit the perfumer’s description of a scent that was developed petal by petal.
With a spring fresh heart, the first of the Chanel perfumes for 2020 is subtle and sophisticated, not the kind of scent for women who want to make a strong statement, but delicate and romantic.
Diaphanous yet strong, Chanel 1932, the new fragrance is more suited to romantic evenings for two than to a night out on the town.
Chanel 1932 will be available as Eau de Toilette: 75 ml ($130) and 200 ml ($230).
