It can often seem like the beauty industry is focused solely on vanity and superficiality. However, sometimes we get to see labels which also aim to bring inner beauty into their campaigns. The newest example is the Donna Karan label which launched the Women Who Inspire campaign and brought a little substance to advertising by also making it thought provoking.
The designer had the initiative of stepping out of the regular pattern of fragrance commercials to bring a bigger message to spotlight and has even dedicated a portion of her website, Donna’s journal to bringing gorgeous women inside and out into spotlight: “I believe in the power of women. As nurturers, we have a unique ability to care and share and make the world a better place. Women Who Inspire are women who are making a difference. This website gives their inspiring messages an interactive forum, encouraging women everywhere to take action and get involved.”
The list is pretty comprehensive and includes names as Karolina Kurkova, Kara Walker, Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, Christy Turlington Burns, Molly Anderson, Sabrina Buell, Liya Kebede, Donna Karan and many others. A short description of why each woman deserves to be there and her current contributions. The faces of the campaign, Christy Turlington Burns, Liya Kebede and Karolina Kurkova are all concerned with maternal and child health and have worked with various foundations and organizations to transform their ideals into reality.
Their inner beauty might be the thing that most deserves to be admired but their facial features are no less noteworthy. Keeping things classy and interesting, the ladies sport an elegant makeup style which puts the focus where it is most needed and underlines the variety of sophisticated touches that the right makeup style can offer. Unsurprisingly, the perfume is marketed to be as complex as the woman who will wear it.
