Marc Jacobs keeps surprises rolling. Despite working for three labels, the designer still has energy left to work for the beauty department which will be revamped soon. A new makeup line and a new scent are seen as major opportunities by the designer. “Anything to me that is part of the joy, the ritual of getting dressed – things that women enjoy like bags, shoes, fragrance, clothes, make-up – that’s what fashion’s about for me. I love the opportunity, wherever there is one, to adorn, to decorate, to scent, to dress. That’s what fashion’s all about. It’s not necessary, it’s something you want – it’s a fancy and a whim.”, the designer stated.
The newest fragrance by the label to be launched this August is aimed to diversify the already popular Lola and Daisy scents. Since this is a sister fragrance, there are some rather obvious similarities as far as packaging is concerned. This time, the cuteness-infused bottle features the ladybug symbol along with the beloved polka dots pattern.
A similarity with the Lola fragrance is sensed in terms of defining notes, however the newest scent has a more tropical allure. A fairly familiar base of coconut water, vanilla, driftwood is perfectly complemented by a heart of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange blossom while red berries and fruit notes perfect the sophisticated bouquet.
The scent, which is licesed under Coty Prestige will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum versions and will also feature matching body products. Whether the new scent by the label will be a strong pillar for the new line remains to be seen. Still, the new scent is already receiving a lot of attention.
