Looking for the best way to stand out during cold, dreary fall days? Whether you want a natural, bare complexion or, on the contrary, something more daring and eye-catching, take a peek at these fall 2020 runway tips and venture outside your beauty routine!
At Dolce & Gabbana, makeup artist Pat McGrath said the designers “wanted to bring light to the face”. The result was a flawless, glowing-looking skin and creamy lips. In order to get the look, apply foundation, a nude eyeliner, a coat of mascara, a soft dusting of blush, and a creamy lipstick in a nude hue. For a flawless, natural finish as the one spotted at Emilio Pucci, conceal any skin imperfections, and use beige eyeshadows and a lip balm.
For fall 2020, keep your brows strong and thick. Achieve the “Sleepy Hollow look” seen at Giles by applying some cream eyeshadow all around and under the eye and leaving the rest of your makeup minimal. You can also add a soft touch of pink blush on the cheeks and a nude lipstick (Missoni). A light stroke of blush is the easiest way to “look and feel glamorous”. Therefore, get a healthy flush using a red lipstick and apply it on the cheeks and even down near the jaw (Michael Kors) or brush some bronzer as seen at Rodarte.

Next fall, remember that fair skin and a natural-looking complexion can make a serious statement. Also, stay away from overplucked brows and opt instead for full and long shapes. Keep your lips velvety and stripped of color trying nude rose and pink shades as seen at Burberry Prorsum and Vera Wang. You can apply some concealer on your lips before using a color that is the closest to your lip tone. Wear nude lipstick to any outfit as its versatility is incredibly stylish whether you sport it at work or on a special occasion.
For showstopping appearances try bolder colors on your lips. Next fall, the red lip color trend comes in different shades and textures. You can opt for the matte, “soft, rose-petal” pink spotted at Jil Sander or for the matte tomato red at Marc by Marc Jacobs. Glam up your looks with a semimatte orange-red lipstick (Thakoon) or a blackberry shade (Rochas). Keep the rest of your makeup as simple as possible. “When doing such a strong mouth, the less you do on the rest of the face, the more modern it looks,” said Diane Kendal, lead makeup artist for Thakoon.

From simple lines to super-drama on the lids, have fun next fall and try an alluring, outstanding eye makeup. You can use a kohl eyeliner in order to create an array of spectacular effects. However, stay classy and sassy tracing the upper lid only (Ralph Lauren) or the lower one (Rag & Bone). Both sexy and pretty, the timeless liner has an amazing power as it beautifully defines and contours the eyes adding sophistication and mystery if properly applied.
Vamp up your looks trying a smoky “round” eye, really dreamy but sad, in a way” embraced by Marc Jacobs or draw your inspiration from Giorgio Armani coloring the inner half of lids in white, making the outer half black. Leave the skin bare, no blush, just a neutral-colored lipstick. Go wild and steal the show daring a roll-worthy eye makeup with a thick line of black liquid liner and a crimson line in the crease of the eye (3.1 Phillip Line). You can also step outside your makeup routine and try different cat-eyes using a punchy blue on the upper lash line (Anna Sui).
