The Fendi L’Acquarossa fragrance is inspired by Italy and will be launched this September. This time, the label is trying to uncover a “fresh facet of Fendi”. To do it, the luxury brand is capitalizing on its strengths and uses its Italian heritage as an inspiration. A great choice, considering the fact it right in line with its values according to Isabelle Gex, global president of Fendi Perfumes: “Obviously, Rome and Italian femininity are very important for Fendi, and we drew on these [elements] as a muse to create a tribute to Italian women and to Rome.”
Emotional bonds with one of Rome’s most recognizable symbols, the Trevi fountain also played a significant role, according to Silvia Venturini Fendi:“We have this bond [with Rome] that recently grew even stronger through the restoration of the fountain.” The new Fendi L’Acquarossa perfume is the result of the concentrated effort of Perfumers Delphine Lebeau, Benoît Lapouza and LVMH director of olfactory development François Demachy and is defined by sophisticated floral notes.
The new Fendi fragrance first enchants the olfactory senses with notes of Sicilian mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and a prune accord. The heart of the scent features red-and-gold lantana flowers, rose, orange blossoms and magnolia while base notes of red cedar, musk and Indonesian patchouli complete the refined new scent.
Despite the fact that the Fendi L’Acquarossa fragrance was inspired by one of the most recognizable historical symbols, the bottle itself is incredibly modern. A striking red shade and luxurious gold and black accents definitely ensures the new scent stands out. For the new campaign, the brand chose Chiara Mastroianni, the daughter of actors Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni. She describes the campaign for the new Fendi perfume as fairly original: “Jean-Baptiste, whom I’ve known for a long time, immediately had some original ideas, and with all the [fragrance] campaigns out today we needed an original idea. And, I think what we did is very cinematographic.”
The Fendi L’Acquarossa fragrance will come in three versions: 30 ml., 50 ml. and 100 ml, which will have an approximate price range between $75 and $130. Scented shower gel, body lotion and deodorant spray will also be sold.
