Ralph Lauren is on the verge of launching a new fragrance collection consisting of four scents. The Big Pony collection for women is an extension of the Big Pony for men and aims to bring women in touch with their vibrant side: “With this launch, we bring to young women an appealing message: Live life in color by expressing every vibrant side of you. The Big Pony Collection for Women is a bouquet of exciting fragrances for the iPod generation”, stated Marc Rey, president of International Designer Collections at L’Oréal USA.
“The Big Pony Collection for Women empowers a woman to express all her different sides and convey the whole story of who she is. This means identifying the four key attributes of a modern woman’s femininity — sporty, sensual, free-spirited and stylish”, said Guillaume de Lesquen, president of Ralph Lauren Fragrances Worldwide and added the fact that the collection is aimed to appeal to women in the 18-24 age group.
The first fragrance of the collection has a floral and citrus base to give it a sporty vibe. The cedarwood and musk base is complemented by a heart of blue lotus and dewy jasmine while fresh grepefruit tones finish the fresh bouquet.
The second scent aims to be a little more sophisticated carrying an oriental vibe. Featuring drydown of sandalwood, vanilla extract, marshmallow and musk tones as base and lily of the valley, magnolia and honeysuckle at the core, the fragrance gets a complex vibe thanks to the top notes of grapefruit, mandarin, guava and water lily.
The third scent is built on a white amber and sandalwood base, followed by a heart of mimosa and buttercup while the gracious pear and kumquat finishes off this lovely bouquet of scents. Floral notes tend to define the fragrance best. The forth and final scent included in the collection has both oriental and floral influences and it’s defined by a sylkolide, sandalwood and purple amber base followed by a heart of magnolia flower and cristallon which is beautifully highlighted by the blood orange, casseyrein and watermelon top notes.
The scent collection is set to be launched in April after a two weeks exclusive at Bloomingdale’s this month and will have an ad campaign featuring renowned models. “The advertising concept celebrates the powerful group of four women, who visually reflect the fragrance collection through their vivid wardrobe and oversize polo pony icons,” stated de Lesquen. Each frangrance will be sold in two versions for $70 for 100 ml and $55 for 50 ml respectively.
