Learn how to recreate Selena Gomez’s signature cat eye makeup look in a few easy steps! The sparkling smokey cat eyes and bold red lips will compliment brown hair and dark eyes beautifully.
Considering that Selena Gomez is a Latina, use a foundation with golden-yellow undertones to hide any imperfections and create a flawless canvas. Follow by setting the base with powder.
Selena Gomez Cat Eye Makeup Steps
Go on to the eyes and use an eyeshadow primer on both upper and lower eyelids.
Hide any uncovered blemishes and apply concealer with a small synthetic stiff brush, then set again with powder.
Nothing brings olive skin and black eyes out more than golden and bronze shades, so we are going to cover the upper lid with a shimmery gold eyeshadow.
For a luminous effect, apply the same shimmery shadow in the inner corner of the eyes and on the lowers lids.
Add depth to the eyes by contouring the crease with a matte brown eyeshadow, then create a lifting cat-eye effect by using the same brown shadow in the outer corners. Blend until you get a very natural transition between the colors.
Start creating the cat eye shape and define the lash line with the previously used brown eyeshadow. Apply it with a thin stiff brush.
Blend, then touch up your makeup with rounded fluffy brush.
To enhance the cat eye effect further more, use a foundation brush to define the outer edges of your eyes.
Using a small precision brush and a matte black eyeshadow, intensify the flick in the outer corner of the eye, then contour the lower eyelid.
Apply highlighter on the brow bone with a concealer brush, then switch to a thin angular brush and contour your eyebrows with an ashy-brown eyeshadow.
Define your lash line with liquid black eyeliner.
Smudge the liner with a stiff brush until you reach the desired intensity.
Trace you lash line again with a new layer of liquid eyeliner and extend it into a gradually slimming flick. If you have close set eyes, draw the line starting from the center of your eyes. It doesn’t have to look perfectly polished, so smudge the eyeliner again.
Use 2 or 3 coats of black mascara for long and voluminous lashes or apply a pair of false eyelashes.
Selena Gomez Makeup Cheeks and Lips
Contour your cheekbones with a shimmery bronzer in a darker shade, then highlight your cheeks with a lighter shade. The golden blush is the perfect choice for an olive skin tone.
Hide your dark under eye circles and give more volume to your lips with an illuminating highlighter.
Contour and fill your lips with a red lip liner, then apply a layer of red lipstick for a glamorously modern finish.
