Anne Hathaway is Marie Claire‘s cover girl for the magazine’s September issue, the UK edition. The beautiful actress strikes a stunning pose wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress. In the article, Anne talks about her latest movie ‘One Day’, Adam Shulman and falling in love again, but also about heartbreaks and Raffaello Follieri.

Heartbreaks are no strangers for the beautiful actress. Hathaway began a relationship with Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri in 2020. In 2020, Follieri was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. Speaking about this unhappy incident, Anne told ‘Marie Claire’ that, “people deal with horrible things all the time. Downstairs in this pub someone has a parent who is battling cancer. Someone has just lost their job. Life is really f***ed up and it’s really painful sometimes.”

After this disappointing moment, her plans to remain single were completely ruined by her current three-year boyfriend, actor Adam Shulman. When asked about their relationship, Anne admits she’s in love. “Yes, I have a boyfriend. And yes, I am very much in love with him. But you do need to keep your private life private. Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fell in love like a fool,” she says.

The actress also discusses how she felt about her role in the romantic drama ‘One Day’, based on David Nicholls’ best-selling novel, and the stress of polishing up her British accent. “There were many reasons to say no to this part. One, because I didn’t think I could pull it off. Two, I was very nervous about the Yorkshire accent,” Hathaway confesses. Even though she tries not to reveal too much, Anne says she cried when reading the film’s dramatic ending. “I literally thought I’d misread it. I felt like I’d been punched in the stomach. I was crying and gulping for air. Very few movies are honest about love,” she told ‘Marie Claire’.

Hathaway says she’s OK with turning 30, an age when actresses start ‘kicking ass’ as she’s previously said. “I think it’s the beginning of a process that really blossoms when you hit 30. It’s when you stop apologising for who you are. It’s nice not to know things and that’s OK. People aren’t going to judge you for asking questions. That’s such a freedom,” the brunette beauty told the magazine.

Hathaway worked hard throughout the years and now the ‘The Princess Diaries’ star admits she doesn’t put so much pressure on herself. “Success is such a subjective thing. Certainly when I was starting out, I just had this unbelievable pressure to get jobs. ‘Gotta work! Gotta work!’ I am hard on myself, but that has changed. Now I do it with hope,” Anne says.
