After having her breakthrough role as Alice Cullen in the hit film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s novels, Twilight actress Ashley Greene found herself put in line with some of the highest ranked actresses in Hollywood, and this is not something that every young actress manages to experience in such little time. Talking with Lucky Magazine, for the publication’s March 2020 issue, Ashley shares her take on her success and life after Twilight among others.
Ms. Greene who’s become a style icon for girls all over the world shows off her ravishing beauty and flirty feminine style in a lovely photoshoot with Lucky, so check out her stunning spread and draw inspiration from her picture perfect style.
Celebrity life is not easy especially at a youthful age and after Twilight’s success, the 24 year old actress had her share of fame. Ashley Green states that things can become a bit terrifying and tells Lucky in an exclusive interview that:
“Twilight has given me something to skyrocket off of. But now that it’s ending, there’s so much work to be done. And if I don’t do it, then Twilight’s all I’m ever going to be known for, as great as it is. Basically I went from ‘dying to get a gig’ to ‘dying to get the gig that everyone wants.’ So now I’m in this realm with a lot of highly respected actresses, which is an amazing place to be, but also kind of terrifying.”
As far as her life before fame, Ashley surprisingly states she had quite a low self esteem, and it’s because of that her mom sent her to modeling classes. She told Lucky that:
“My mother put me in modeling classes because I had low self-esteem. I was friends with older people, so I was always around someone more mature who boys responded to. I think that kind of messed with me. She would say ‘You’re beautiful, and you just don’t know it’. But it didn’t help. I was like, ‘You’re my mom, you have to say that!’. She never actually wanted me to be a model; she just wanted me to feel good about myself. But then there was a chain reaction. All of a sudden I wanted to be an actor, and of course, my mother was like, ‘Oh, great, what did I do?’”
Apparently, Ashley’s determination helped her get her roles and that determination helped her keep it as she tells Lucky that it took her just a little bit to understand how things go in Hollywood. Between socializing and enjoying the glam life and studying for a role, Ashley opted for the last option as she realized that there are so many girls that would love her spot. She said:
“I was like ‘Oh, I can go out and do this and do that,’ and it took me about five seconds to realize ‘If you do that, you’re not going to book jobs, and there are 10,000 girls who want your job.’Yeah. It’s all glitz and glamour in Hollywood, and you want to be part of it. And the deadly thing is that you meet people who do have the money and do have fame and are in a position to not spend every waking moment working toward getting a job, and it’s easy to feel like you can do it too, when really you haven’t earned it. You can either socialize or you can study your script, and luckily I learned that pretty quick!”
As far as her personal life goes, Ashley knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to wait until she meets the right guy. She shares her taste on men and tells Lucky that: “What’s most attractive to me is someone who has the same amount of drive as I do, someone who’s equally passionate about what they do, and equally busy. But I think that would be a tall order.”
