The promotion of the ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ movie brings Cameron Diaz back into the spotlight. After the InStyle May 2020 interview, we get the chance to see the star in a new fabulous pictorial and interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK. If the previous pictorial showed us the star’s feminine side, the Tom Munro photoshoot shows us her tomboy side with a fabulous sultry allure. The all-white look fits the star perfectly and exudes that fab, much craved summery allure.
In the accompanying interview, the star reveals some of her preferences in places and people. Apparently, the gorgeous 39 years old star loves London and particularly parks: ‘What I love about London is all the green spaces – you know how every little neighborhood will have a little park or a square…. I like to get walking in a city. I always find myself in very interesting places. I love London.’
However, the fabulous landscapes aren’t the only thing the star loves about Britain. British men are also high on the diva’s list. Her fav things about them? ‘I love their sense of humor and the sense of chivalry and charm. It’s something that is innately a part of the culture – we don’t have that over here, it’s not the same in America” the star stated.
The admiration for all things British also extends to stars and she reveals that she has a soft spot for Colin Firth whom she sees as the perfect reflection of true Britishmen: ‘He’s the perfect Englishman. Just enough of the self-effacing to a point that it’s comfortable for other people, but also totally charming and engaging to where he makes you feel special. He’s got that British honesty.”
There are also other fellow actors who are close to the star’s heart and Gwyneth Paltrow is one of them. Since Gwyneth also had to deal with the death of her father, she was one of the people who was extremely supportive when she went through the same experience: ‘We became very close after my dad’s death. She reached out and it was very sweet. We bonded on that.”
Regarding more special bonds, like the ones that come with marrying and starting a family, the actress declared: “I’m not sitting there going, ‘Oh my God, when am I going to get married? When am I going to have a baby?’ I would be remiss if I was living my life wishing I had something other than what I have. If one day, I am blessed with the experience of having a child, I would be overjoyed, but I am not sitting here feeling empty because I haven’t yet, or that I may not.”
For anyone who’s ever asked themselves how Cameron might be like as a person, Melissa Whitworth who interviewed her can shed some light on the subject:’We spent three hours together… Drank a bottle of rosé, ate food and talked and talked. That’s the best way to experience someone and work out what makes them tick: when they are utterly relaxed. It was one of my favorite interviews in the 13 years I’ve been doing this. She’s been interviewed into oblivion over the last 18 years, so I expected her to be jaded, but not a bit.”
