With the premiere of “What to Expect When You Are Expecting” rapidly approaching, Cameron Diaz is taking every opportunity for promotion. As the covergirl of the InStyle May 2020 issue, the actress rocks several couture dresses from the Paris Fashion Week looking spectacular in every single one of them. In the accompanying interview, the star opens up about a variety of topics such as love, friendship, nutrition as well as her views on having a child.

As we might expect, the actress is pretty easy going and strives to make her life better every time. From her short hair which simplifies her routine: “It’s freeing, and I feel so much lighter,” to her view of life, “I’m living my life as a journey. My quest is to make it better every year”, the diva’s optimism really shines through. On the same token, the diva believes the recipe for good friendship is fairly intuitive: “Good friendship is basic: Be good to one another, be thoughtful, enrich one another’s lives. I learn so much from my girlfriends, and I love it.”

When it comes to love, the star is pretty open in regards to ‘her type’: “I would never have guessed that I would end up dating any of the guys I’ve dated—never! There’s no through-line between them. But I love love, and love comes from many different places. When I was going through a bit of a heartbreak a little while ago, I said to a friend, ‘Wow, this really hurts!’ And he said to me, ‘That just shows you what your capacity for loving is.’

Like her character from ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’, the star doesn’t have a clearly fixed idea on having children: “Society definitely puts pressure on women to make them think their lives should go a certain way. I’ve never said I don’t want children—I just haven’t had children yet. I don’t know what’s going to happen in my life! I could end up adopting children. I could end up with a partner who already has children. Who knows? I’m not trying to fit into anyone’s box about how I should be. I just fit in my own box.”

Still, one of the biggest surprises is perhaps the new project she embarked on as a nutrition educator. Cameron is planning to dedicate all her energy for the cause: “Everyone needs to find a purpose, and I think mine is to help other people. This project is only in the blueprint stages, but I’m creating a space where I can teach healthy habits that girls can build on. I see women struggling with their bodies because they don’t know how they work on basic levels, starting with nutrition. The more I talk about this with people, the more I realize how much it’s needed. I’m really throwing all of my energy into it.”
