Singer, model, and dancer, Cassie is featured on the latest cover of ‘Blank’ magazine, the July 2020 issue, looking incredibly hot in a colorful and fun spread, photographed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold. The 24-year-old star shows off her modeling qualities in designer clothes from Balmain, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Jil Sander, Zara, or Rodarte for Opening Ceremony.
Inside the magazine, Cassie sits down for a chat and talks about a wide range of topics including her upcoming album and her dream collaboration. “Prince would be amazing. Isn’t that what everyone would answer to that question?”, the singer says. Speaking about her new album, ‘Electro Love’, Cassie told ‘Blank’ that, “It’s top secret! (laughs) I’m going to let the music speak for itself. The one thing I will say is I love it.” However, in a previous interview with ‘Nylon’ magazine, the hottie revealed that it’s a cool mix of pop, hip-hop and ska, comparing it with “urban Gwen Stefani meets Aaliyah”.
In 2020, Cassie shocked all her fans when she showed off her partially shaved head on Twitter saying that “sometimes in life, you need a change … Something deeper than what you thought you were capable of ….” Now, Cassie has shaved both sides leaving the center part long. On why she did it and whether she likes to take risks or not, the singer told ‘Blank’ that, “My hair wasn’t a risk to me. I just did it. Loved it. Still love it, actually. Do I consider myself a risk taker? You got to live. No risk, no reward. Life is boring if you paint inside the lines.”
Asked about those people whose music had a great impact on her career, Cassie admits that, “I have so many influences musically. My parents always played music in the house when I was growing up in Conneticut. The music they played ranged from Parliament Funkadelic to Carol King to Stevie Wonder. As an artist I think that the music you’re exposed to when you’re young influences the music you choose to create. I also went through a Jimi Hendrix phase, it was interesting. I used to listen to him on my dads old 8-track player. I was in love with Janet Jackson and of course Aaliyah.”
Cassie, who made her big screen debut in ‘Step Up 2: The Streets’, confesses she would love to act. “I’ve done a few things. I would love to act more; film is ideal for me. Its something I want to devote more time to – for sure. I would love to work with David Fincher or Oliver Stone,” she said in the interview with ‘Blank’. Still, if she wasn’t a performer, Cassie reveals that, “I’d be a chef or a museum owner I’m into modern art.”
