Charlize Theron is InStyle’s June 2020 cover girl. The stunning 36-year-old actress, renowned for her unique role choices, sits down for a chat with the magazine and dishes on being single, being a mom, and being happy. “I’m good with how my life is right now. It’s very different, and I’m embracing that. I’m happy and at peace,” Theron confesses in the accompanying interview with the magazine’s latest issue.
In March 2020, Theron’s publicist released a statement saying that the actress is the “proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.” He is the first child for Theron. “Motherhood was something I always knew I wanted to experience. What a great opportunity for someone like me who wants to have a family … I can only hope to be 10 percent of the mom mine was to me. She encouraged me to be confident and enjoy life. That’s what I want for my son. So far I’m not surprised by anything about being a mom. It’s all pretty great – but that’s what I expected,” the actress told InStyle.
Theron is one of the most beautiful women in the world and a super-talented actress. But what would she do if she could switch careers at her current age? “I would be an amazing butler. I’m very good at organizing a house,” Charlize told InStyle.
The ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ star has been single since her nine-year relationship with Irish actor Stuart Townsend ended in 2020. Speaking about being single, the gorgeous starlet says that, “I’m always open to a relationship, but I’m not putting those feelers out there now. I’m not unhappy with it, but I’m not like, ‘Oh, this is so much better than when I was in a relationship.’ I am a relationship girl. That’s kind of just how I’m made…”
“There’s definitely something in the nature of a man and a woman that makes that challenging, but it was never a huge problem for me. I don’t live my life in a way that feels big. When you’re in my life, it’s actually very contained,” she adds.
When it comes to aging, the actress embraces all the changes that are about to come. “I see my face and my body changing, and they’re all changes I’m OK with. Part of me understands I may not be in front of the camera forever, and maybe not just because of age, but because of me. I wouldn’t have started my own production company if I didn’t feel that way,” Theron told the magazine.
